Day 1

Yesterday I started my weight-loss journey...

Started off by having breakfast with John at Blackstone! I had 2 eggs basted, 2 pieces of whole wheat toast, 3 strips of crispy bacon and a large glass of orange juice. Yum!

To help with my weight-loss I take CTS360 from Complete Nutrition with all of my meals. So, with my breakfast I take my multivitamin, a metabolism booster, and a fat booster. I also feel like I have more energy after I take them.

After breakfast we stopped at Planet Fitness and got our Black Card Membership. It's only 19.99 a month and gives us full access to everything they have to offer. Which is really nice a really good value! There is a ton of equipment to use, classes to take, free training, tanning, red light therapy, and massage chairs! Also the locker rooms are really nice and my favorite part about the place is the Judgement Free Zone! I feel comfortable when I work out there.

Once we got our membership and a tour of the place we headed next door to Copps to do some much needed grocery shopping! We got a lot of healthy things by mostly sticking to the outside perimeter of the store. Then we headed home with our groceries and put them away. Once that was done we packed out gym bags and headed back to Planet Fitness to work out.

Not sure what John did but I'll quickly go over what I did.

I found online this Couch to 5k workout online. John's friends in Colorado were talking about it the week before when we were out there. It's an endurance builder for people who have never run before or don't like to run, a.k.a. me!

What it is is you start by briskly walking for 5 minutes, which i found to be about 3 to 3.5 mph on the treadmill. After that 5 minutes you run for 1 minute then walk for 1.5 minutes then repeat. Until you get to the 25 minute mark where you cool down. The whole process takes about 9 weeks if you stick to it, but you should be able to run a 5k by the end of it! Plus cardio is really good for boosting your metabolism and heart health!

After I did that I did a few weight lifting machines to working on my thighs, arms and stomach. I felt real good about myself once I was all done! In the locker room was a scale so reluctantly I stepped on it. And I weighted 237.4 lbs. This the most I've ever weighted in my entire life. I know it's gonna take a lot of hard work but like I've said, I'm up for the challenge.

After showering we headed home and had lunch. I had two pieces of string cheese, an apple, and some sugar snap peas. I LOVE sugar snap peas...I'm addicted! Can't wait for the farmers market so I can get more of them, but a whole heck of a lot cheaper! Yum! And with lunch I took the same pill but not my multi-vitamin.

John then headed off to work and I met up with my sister for coffee at Starbucks and pedicures! I love spending that time with her! After that I ran home since John forgot the store keys at home and was closing last night and I quickly made myself some lunch. We both had Turkey Pastrami sandwiches with reduced fat swiss cheese on whole wheat bread. Yummy! I wasn't sure I would like it, but I was nummy! I also had a bottle of water, another piece of string cheese and some red grapes.

Then he headed back to work and I headed back home. Where I watched a little bit of tv and posted the before blog about getting started. Then before bed I took my night boosting pill and fat burning pills. The night pill helps you stay asleep once you fall asleep, but it won't make you sleepy.

So overall yesterday was a good day and I'm definetly feeling a little sore today.

Well I think I've rambled enough for now.

your's truly,

Tamara

  1. Tamara,
It's great to hear that you're committed to getting into shape. I love all kinds of physical activity: running, biking, playing sports, etc. It definitely has all kinds of benefits, and you'll definitely feel better about yourself (even if it's just the endorphins ;-P ). Keep up the good work.
